Chef George Vutetakis is an award-winning plant-based chef who has been at the forefront of the plant-based food revolution for more than 50 years. His Michigan journey began in 1981 as a pioneering farm-to-table restaurateur, where his creative menus and commitment to seasonal, local ingredients helped shape a new era of dining. Over the decades, Chef George has gone on to inspire as an author, blogger, and respected voice in food manufacturing, bridging the worlds of culinary tradition and modern innovation.
With a lifelong dedication to regenerative and sustainable food systems, he continues to champion delicious, healthy, and accessible plant-based foods that nourish both people and the planet. From kitchens to boardrooms, Chef George’s work reflects a passion for bringing communities together through food that is vibrant, authentic, and meant for everyone to enjoy.

George is a leader in plant-based food manufacturing and regenerative soil-to-shelf applications. He has broad experience with scaled CPG ecosystems and vertically integrated agriculture-to-consumer product design, as well as multi-process food design for thermal, cold-chain and food service applications.
Chef George led the R & D team at Garden Fresh Gourmet until Campbell’s purchased the company in 2015. As a director in the C-Fresh R&D team, he specialized in plant-based food design. At the same time, he was researching foundational plant-based ingredients with Campbell’s Global Science and Technology team.
